The Necromancer, master of the dead
He steals the souls of the cards in his hand to make them his own, and his Horsemen charge at his side.
Fourth and final entry in our series on the heroes of Mythsworn: Spells & Poker: the Necromancer.
Who he is
Master of forgotten tombs, he commands wandering souls and their violet flames. He is the hero you have to free: he joins the adventure once the Blackfang Mine is freed. He is also the hero you play in the tutorial fight, the very first time you launch the game.
How he plays
He is the army hero. His color is Souls (the purple cards): three cards of his color in a line deal ×1.5 damage. His power gives his color to cards in his own poker hand, without changing their value: he sets up his flushes before laying his pair.
At each of his Ascensions, one of the Four Horsemen joins him (his choice): on the board, they are living Kings.
His four forms
Each poker hand fills the Ascension gauge, and he rises in the middle of a fight. Each form hits harder, gains health and armor, and changes his power, and at each Ascension a creature joins him.

- Initiate, Stolen Soul (0 mana): a card of another color in his hand takes his color; it keeps its value.
- Champion, Soul Theft (0 mana): two cards of his hand take his color. As he becomes a Champion, a Horseman of his choice joins him.
- Legend, Choir of Souls (3 mana): the same two cards, then +8 armor. As he becomes a Legend, a second Horseman joins him.
- Mythic (Transcendence): the ultimate form, unlocked at the end of the adventure. Discover it by playing.
How to play him well
- Give your color to your hand's cards before laying them: two more purple cards often make a flush.
- The Horsemen are Kings: on the board, their card counts in your lines.
- His ideal familiar: Nyxara, the Moonveil Owl, who reveals the monster's hand.
That's the end of the series: the four Mythsworn are ready. Meet them again in the portraits of the Bellwarden, the Pyromancer and the Thornwitch. To follow the game until its release, the game page has everything, and so do our accounts on X, YouTube and Instagram.
